What this is

A public, evidence-linked record of incidents at facilities operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC). MTC is a private contractor that runs prisons, ICE detention centers, and Job Corps centers in the United States.

What we are trying to do

1. Stop the Marana detention center.
2. End MTC's contracts with ICE.
3. Push MTC, by way of its reputation, back to only doing the work it does well, and out of the work that hurts people.

Methodology

• Every published claim links to a primary source: a court filing, a government audit, named journalism, or named firsthand testimony.
• Selection and framing are editorial. The underlying facts are not. We publish what is documented.
• Real positives are included when they exist and are documented to the same source standard. We do not fabricate balance.
• Reports submitted by the public go through a review queue and are only published after the evidence has been checked.

How the data works

Each published incident on this site is also a LinkedClaim. That makes it a portable, verifiable claim that can be cited and reused outside this site, with the same source preserved.

What this site is not

Neutral journalism. It is an advocacy site. The bar we hold ourselves to is the truth bar, not the neutrality bar. If something we have published is wrong, tell us and we will correct or withdraw it.
